As of October 25, 2026, Slack’s public US pricing lists Free, Pro, Business+, and Enterprise+. Pro costs $7.25 per user per month with annual billing or $8.75 with monthly billing. Business+ costs $15 per active user per month annually or $18 monthly. Enterprise+ has custom pricing.
These are displayed US prices, not guaranteed quotes. Region, billing arrangement, discounts, contract terms, customer status, and seat-billing rules can change the amount. Business+ is shown on Slack’s public page using an active-user basis, but confirm the billable-user definition and treatment in the offer for your workspace.
The right plan depends less on headcount than on searchable history, collaboration, integrations, identity, governance, support, and retention requirements. This guide corrects the older Business+ prices and Enterprise Grid terminology found in the source article, then gives a requirements-first way to evaluate the purchase.
Slack pricing in 2026: the short answer
| Plan | Public US price | Useful decision signal | Confirm before purchase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 90 days of searchable message and file history, up to 10 app integrations, and two-person huddles. | Whether the history window, app limit, and huddle size meet actual usage. |
| Pro | $7.25 per user/month annually; $8.75 monthly | Unlimited message history and app integrations, group huddles, Workflow Builder, and 24/7 support. | The specific app, workflow, retention, and support requirements. |
| Business+ | $15 per active user/month annually; $18 monthly | SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning, data exports, administrative controls, advanced AI features, 24/7 support, and a four-hour first-response commitment. | Active-user treatment, exact entitlements, AI access, and contract terms. |
| Enterprise+ | Custom | Enterprise governance and compliance capabilities for organization-wide requirements. | Architecture, legal holds, audit, DLP, regulatory scope, pricing, and contract language. |
Check Slack’s current pricing page, its plan and feature matrix, and the Business+ plan page before relying on a price or feature statement.
The source article was visibly published October 15, 2024 and lists Business+ at $12.50 per user per month annually or $15 monthly. Slack changed pricing effective June 17, 2025. The current public US figures are $15 per active user per month annually or $18 monthly. Treat the older figures as historical context, not a current quote.
What each Slack plan changes in practice
Free
Free includes 90 days of searchable message and file history and up to 10 app integrations. Slack says Free-plan content older than one year may be permanently deleted, so the 90-day searchable-history limit should not be interpreted as immediate deletion on day 91. Free huddles are limited to two participants. See Slack’s Free-plan limitations for the current operational rules.
Pro
Pro is the usual evaluation point when a team needs unlimited message history, unlimited app integrations, group huddles, Workflow Builder, or 24/7 support. “Unlimited integrations” does not mean that every custom app, API connection, workflow step, or third-party automation capability is included. Verify the exact integration type and workflow requirement before treating Pro as sufficient.
Business+
Business+ adds identity and administration capabilities such as SAML single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, data exports, administrative controls, and advanced AI features. Slack also lists 24/7 support with a four-hour first-response commitment. That is a first-response commitment, not a promise that an issue will be resolved within four hours.
Enterprise+
Evaluate Enterprise+ when the requirement involves legal holds, Discovery API access, audit logs, DLP, HIPAA-related controls, domain-wide governance, or other organization-level obligations. The exact capability can depend on the plan, contract, configuration, add-ons, and regulatory scope. A plan name alone does not establish compliance suitability. Older material may use “Enterprise Grid”; Slack’s current public pricing terminology is Enterprise+.
Paid-plan huddles support up to 50 participants, but up to 25 participants can enable video simultaneously. Free huddles are capped at two participants. Slack’s huddle guidance is the appropriate reference when simultaneous video is important.
Keep these data concepts separate: searchable history is what users can find; retention settings govern how long content is kept; exports provide data through authorized methods; audit logs record administrative activity; and legal holds preserve material for legal purposes. Unlimited message history does not by itself create indefinite retention or satisfy a legal hold.
How to choose a plan: use requirements before headcount
A small regulated team may need enterprise controls, while a large team may need only basic messaging. Create a requirements register before comparing plans. Include the retention period, largest expected huddle, external collaboration, integration type, identity provider, provisioning needs, exports, DLP, audit, legal hold, regulatory obligations, AI requirements, and support expectations.
An optional AI assistant can classify procurement-brief text into history, integrations, collaboration, identity, compliance, support, and AI categories. It should return the original source text, category, priority, candidate plans, and unresolved questions for review. Use deterministic checks for prices, plan limits, and known feature requirements. A human owner must decide compliance suitability, contractual interpretation, and final procurement approval.
Calculate total cost, not just the displayed seat price
A practical estimate is the quoted unit price multiplied by the applicable billable seats and billing period, plus required add-ons and other contracted costs. Record the region, currency, billing cadence, active versus provisioned user basis, estimated seats, discounts, contract terms, source URL, and retrieval date. Obtain a current written quote before approval.
Illustrative Business+ estimate: 85 active users at $15 per active user per month gives a monthly equivalent of $1,275 and an annual equivalent of $15,300 before discounts, taxes, or other contract costs. At $18 monthly, the same 85 users would cost $1,530 per month, or $18,360 over 12 months if that rate applied throughout. These are arithmetic examples, not vendor quotes.

The sample is an illustrative plan-level cost observation. A production record should not combine it with a feature claim, invoice, or CRM event. Store one record per vendor, plan, region, currency, billing period, and retrieval time. If feature claims are tracked separately, use one feature assertion per plan and source snapshot.
For a fair alternative comparison, ClickUp’s current public pricing page lists Free Forever, Unlimited, Business, Enterprise, and separately priced AI offerings. It lists Unlimited at $7 per user per month annually or $10 monthly, Business at $12 annually or $19 monthly, Brain AI at $9 per user per month, and Everything AI at $28 per user per month. These figures are a limited scope comparison, not proof that ClickUp is categorically cheaper. Compare matching billing periods, required work-management capabilities, AI costs, users, and add-ons.
Pricing monitoring: a proposed editorial model
For a pricing-change tracker, capture dated official-page snapshots and compare plan names, prices, limits, feature wording, and AI packaging. This is a proposed editorial design, not an official Slack or ClickUp integration.
A raw snapshot can contain the source URL, vendor, plan identifier, region, currency, billing period, retrieval timestamp, page content hash, and extracted text. A separate reported change record can reference the previous and current snapshot IDs. Keep an editorial claim separate from both records so a reviewer can approve or reject a publishable statement without altering the raw observation.
At the declared row grain of one vendor, plan, region, currency, billing period, effective date, and content version, enforce uniqueness with a database constraint or transactional upsert. A content hash can identify identical page captures, but it should not replace the business key when multiple runs or citations exist. Lookup-then-create alone is not safe when concurrent workers can ingest the same page.
Slack AI and plan packaging: verify the exact entitlement
Slack’s AI packaging changed after the source article was published. Slack states that the legacy Slack AI add-on is no longer available for purchase on its website and has announced retirement implications for repurchase after March 1, 2027. Legacy Business+ and Enterprise arrangements may have different access. Do not infer a workspace’s AI entitlement from an old article or a plan name alone.
Slack’s current AI guide describes capabilities that can include conversation summaries, huddle notes, automatic search filters, search answers, recaps, file summaries, translations, workflow automation, canvas generation, Slackbot, and enterprise search. Availability varies by plan and customer status. Ask the workspace administrator or Slack representative to confirm the named features, user limits, legacy status, and price for the actual account.
ClickUp also lists AI separately on its public pricing page. Its documentation says ClickUp Brain can summarize Chat activity, answer questions, create tasks, and assign messages, subject to plan and role limits. That documentation does not establish a Slack-to-ClickUp implementation or a fixed output schema. If a team prototypes Chat-to-task work, validate the destination, assignee permission, due date, required fields, source-message identifier, and duplicate-task rule before creation.
When Enterprise+ or a contract review is necessary
Escalate the evaluation when requirements include legal holds, Discovery API use, audit logs, DLP, HIPAA-related controls, domain claiming, organization-wide governance, or enterprise identity controls. Slack’s Discovery API guidance describes approved eDiscovery, archiving, and DLP use cases. It is not a general-purpose export shortcut.
Audit logs are separate from message content. Slack’s audit-log documentation should be reviewed alongside the plan matrix when administrative activity matters. Confirm the organization plan, contract, configuration, retention settings, export permissions, destination, authorized operators, and any approved compliance partner.
The source article claims a 99.99% Business+ uptime SLA. That claim was not confirmed in the current public Business+ materials reviewed. Require the current SLA or contract language before relying on it. Do not treat unlimited history as a legal hold or assume that Business+ or Enterprise+ automatically satisfies HIPAA or another regulatory obligation.
A practical approval checklist
- Save the current plan name, official pricing URL, quote date, region, currency, and billing cadence.
- Confirm whether the offer bills active users, provisioned users, or another defined unit, and record the expected seat count.
- Test searchable history, retention settings, huddle size, required apps, and specific workflow steps with a pilot group.
- Confirm the exact AI features, legacy or current account status, user limits, and additional cost.
- Obtain security, legal, or compliance review for SSO, SCIM, exports, DLP, audit logs, legal holds, and regulatory requirements.
- Review support commitments, SLA language, discounts, renewal terms, and any account-specific entitlements in writing.
- Assign the procurement approver, IT or security reviewer, and owner responsible for renewal and future plan-change review.
Teams implementing work management alongside communication may find ConsultEvoClickUp setup and automationA relevant service resource for teams designing ClickUp workflows alongside communication tools. It is not a Slack integration or a promise of savings.
For future pricing updates, store the source URL and retrieval date with every claim. A reviewer should confirm the region, billing basis, wording, and effective date on the live vendor page before changing an article or procurement record.
