The right WordPress plugin for LinkedIn depends on who starts the action. Choose an auto-publisher when WordPress should send an eligible post to LinkedIn, a share-button plugin when a visitor should begin the sharing flow, and a social-login plugin when a customer needs LinkedIn authentication. These are different jobs, not interchangeable plugin features.
A WooCommerce store that wants LinkedIn login needs a different integration from a publisher sending approved articles to a company page. The workflows use different permissions, data, triggers, and failure handling. This guide compares current options and adds an operational design for testing destinations, avoiding duplicate publication, and assigning recovery work. Product information was reviewed on October 14, 2026; verify current compatibility, pricing, and terms before installation.
Traffic, engagement, conversions, and performance are site-specific outcomes. A plugin makes a workflow available, but installation alone does not establish a marketing or performance result.
Automatic publication
A post event is filtered and sent towards a personal profile or authorized organization page.
Share button
A visitor activates a LinkedIn share flow. The click does not confirm that a LinkedIn post was completed.
Social login
LinkedIn authorization creates or connects a local account, subject to the installed plugin’s behavior.
Choose the plugin by the LinkedIn action you need
- Automatic publication: Compare WP LinkedIn Auto Publish and WP to LinkedIn Auto Publish for focused WordPress-to-LinkedIn publishing. Evaluate FS Poster or Social Auto Poster when you also need broader distribution, scheduling, or reposting.
- Visitor sharing: Evaluate BestWebSoft’s LinkedIn for Follow and Share buttons or Social Snap for LinkedIn sharing and related actions. Treat Social Warfare as a compatibility-review option because WordPress.org warns that it has not been tested with the latest three major WordPress releases.
- WooCommerce login: Assess WooCommerce Social Login when customers need LinkedIn authentication during registration, account access, or checkout.
A share button does not automatically publish WordPress posts, provide company-page publishing, or retrieve LinkedIn comments and reactions. Those capabilities require separate product support, API paths, and permissions.
Compare current options by job, not by ranking
The following table is a shortlist for evaluation, not a universal ranking. Compare the current release, destination support, filters, scheduling behavior, logs, permissions, maintenance, and total cost on your own site.
| Job | Options to evaluate | Key qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Focused automatic publication | WP LinkedIn Auto Publish; WP to LinkedIn Auto Publish | WP LinkedIn Auto Publish documents sharing posts, pages, and custom post types, category filters, message controls, opt-outs, featured-image options, and share history. WP to LinkedIn Auto Publish documents text, link, and image publishing, filters, configurable message formats, scheduled-post handling, logs, and duplicate-prevention changes. Compare the current releases rather than assuming one lacks reusable messages. |
| Multi-network distribution | FS Poster; Social Auto Poster | FS Poster documents automatic sharing, Planner schedules, old-post sharing, manual sharing, custom post types, and LinkedIn company pages. Its vendor pricing page lists an introductory $58 annual Single plan for one website; renewals use the full price and VAT is excluded. Social Auto Poster documents LinkedIn, scheduling, republishing, custom post types, posting logs, and debug logs. Consult its current page for the exact network list. |
| Visitor sharing | BestWebSoft’s LinkedIn; Social Snap | BestWebSoft lists Follow and Share buttons with placement controls for posts, pages, the homepage, or widgets. Social Snap lists LinkedIn sharing, email, print, and copy-link actions. Share counts and broader features can depend on the paid tier. |
| Visitor sharing, compatibility review required | Social Warfare | Its listing documents LinkedIn buttons, floating placement, shortcodes, Open Graph controls, Bitly, and campaign tracking. WordPress.org currently displays a warning that it has not been tested with the latest three major WordPress releases, so use a staging test before relying on it. |
| WooCommerce identity and checkout | WooCommerce Social Login | The current product page lists LinkedIn login, checkout use, account linking, and provider-registration reporting. Verify the installed version’s provider setup, callback behavior, returned fields, and account recovery path. |
Social Snap currently shows 10,000+ active installations on WordPress.org, but counts and versions change. Its 30-plus platform claim applies to the Pro feature set, not necessarily the free version. FS Poster currently advertises 26 essential social networks; customer counts, longevity, ratings, and other vendor-reported figures are date-sensitive and are not independent performance evidence.
Do not select Super Socializer for a new installation. WordPress.org lists it as closed on June 18, 2026 because of a security issue. Existing sites should review replacement and security risk.
Plan automatic WordPress-to-LinkedIn publishing as a controlled workflow
Keep WordPress as the content source of truth, then define the publication policy before connecting an account. Decide which post types and categories qualify, whether scheduled posts publish when their WordPress schedule fires, whether an edit creates a new LinkedIn post, whether opt-outs are honored, and whether the destination is a personal profile, an organization page, or both.
The documented product sequence is straightforward: a post is created or published, the connector applies its filters, the connector formats text and an optional link or image, LinkedIn publication is attempted, and the available history or logs are checked. Approval queues, race-safe deduplication, retries, and external post identifiers are not universal plugin features. Treat those as design questions to verify or implement around the selected connector.
Organization publication has a separate access gate. LinkedIn’s organization access-control documentation describes eligible roles and access requirements, while the Posts API reference documents publishing permissions and API versioning. A plugin’s company-page setting does not grant access by itself. Confirm the authenticated member’s eligible role, the application’s approved scope, the connector’s current API support, and the page selected after authorization.
The following is a proposed implementation record, not a vendor database schema. Its row grain is one publication attempt for one source revision, destination, and intentional repost instance. Retries use separate attempt IDs but retain the same intended-publication key. Enforce uniqueness at the intended-publication grain with a database constraint or transactional upsert, not a non-atomic lookup-then-insert check.
{

}
Include a repost-instance identifier when an intentional repost should count as a new publication. A post ID alone can collide across destinations, and a daily aggregate cannot identify an individual event. Do not store raw access tokens in this record. Keep any authorization reference separate and protected.
Use share buttons when the visitor starts the action
A share-button setup renders a LinkedIn control on selected pages. The visitor activates it and continues through LinkedIn’s share flow. BestWebSoft documents Follow and Share buttons with placement controls. Social Snap documents LinkedIn sharing alongside email, print, and copy-link actions. Choose the smallest maintained implementation that meets the placement requirement rather than adding an auto-publishing suite for a button-only need.
A local button click proves that someone activated your site’s control, not that LinkedIn created a post. If consent permits click measurement, report it as a local interaction. Measure referral sessions separately, and do not label either metric a verified LinkedIn share, reaction, or comment count.
Social Warfare also documents LinkedIn sharing, floating placement, and campaign-tracking features, but its WordPress.org compatibility warning makes a staging test important. If the requirement is LinkedIn comments or reactions, basic sharing is insufficient. LinkedIn documents those social actions through separate API capabilities and permissions; a button plugin should not be assumed to retrieve them.
Treat LinkedIn login as an account and checkout decision
With WooCommerce Social Login, the documented flow is that a visitor chooses LinkedIn login or checkout, authorizes the identity provider, and then creates or links a local account. The product page also documents account linking and provider-registration reporting. The current listing includes LinkedIn and several other providers, but the source article’s Apple Pay reference is not supported by the current product page and should not be repeated.
Before enabling the feature, test new registration, returning login, checkout, account linking, unlinking, and recovery if the customer loses access to LinkedIn. Confirm that the callback uses HTTPS and matches the provider configuration. Check exactly which fields the installed version receives and stores, then reflect that handling in the site’s privacy information. Where supported, use a stable provider subject identifier for account association rather than treating an email address as a permanent identity key.
Assign an owner for provider configuration, account recovery, privacy requests, and unlinking before launch. Authentication failures and account-link conflicts need a human recovery path rather than repeated automatic retries.
Test permissions, failures, compatibility, and outcomes before rollout
- Check current WordPress, PHP, WooCommerce, theme, and maintenance information for the installed version.
- Connect a test LinkedIn account and verify the exact personal profile or organization page selected.
- For organization publishing, confirm the member’s eligible role, approved application scope, and current connector/API support.
- Publish a controlled test and inspect the plugin’s available history, posting log, or debug log.
- Test a scheduled post, an excluded post, an edit, and an intentional repost against the site’s duplicate policy.
- Revoke or expire authorization in a test environment, then verify detection, reconnection, and manual recovery.
- Measure only relevant outcomes: publication attempts and failures, duplicate attempts, local button clicks, referral sessions, or completed logins.
Use a before-and-after test for front-end assets, database behavior, scheduled tasks, image fetching, and cache interaction before making a performance claim. Product features, pricing, installation counts, ratings, supported networks, and compatibility can change after this research date.
Deterministic rules should decide which post types, categories, destinations, and opt-outs are allowed. AI is not required for those policy or permission decisions. If a product offers AI-assisted caption or media generation, treat that as optional vendor functionality. A separate, proposed caption-drafting step can save a suggestion to a draft field and require human approval before publication, but the reviewed evidence does not establish a universal AI approval queue.
In short: use WP LinkedIn Auto Publish or WP to LinkedIn Auto Publish for focused automatic publication, evaluate FS Poster or Social Auto Poster for broader scheduling and distribution, choose BestWebSoft’s LinkedIn or Social Snap for visitor sharing, and assess WooCommerce Social Login for LinkedIn-based account access. Exclude Super Socializer from new installations, test Social Warfare carefully, and validate destination permissions, compatibility, duplicate behavior, and recovery before going live.
